Strategy and Quality Management Lead
The SQM Lead with particular expertise and extensive work background in strategic management and organizational development, will lead in the development of the organization’s governance processes, organization skills, and framework to ensure alignment to the organization’s vision and mission and adhere to quality standards. This role requires technical expertise and skills to lead in processes and dynamic structures and can able to provide technical advice and support to teams consisting of Execom, institutional management, and portfolio teams with strong org development perspective. The SQM Lead will play a critical technical leadership role to support teams in strategic quality implementation of programs and strategies through the enhanced application of organizational learning, sharing of best practices on developing and scaling up innovations.
Essential Job Functions
A. Strategic Management and Risk Management
1. Support partnerships director and ED to develop, implement, assess, and revise for approval of the BOT ZFF’s governance structure, performance and quality assurance systems (e.g., governance systems for portfolio management and other institutional management platforms to support strategy implementation and monitoring, feedback mechanisms, risk monitoring)
2. Lead the development, implementation, monitoring and review of the ZFF accountability management processes with the Execom, and other unit leads with ZFF.
3. Lead strategic quality assurance reviews of ZFF policies and processes, including alignment to required government regulatory policies
4. Coordinate with Finance unit and other unit leads the development of annual work and financial plans, including its review as part of overall ZFF strategy performance monitoring.
5. Through daily operations oversight, coordinates with ZFF Execom and other institutional management units in addressing issues arising through regular risk monitoring and assessments that may impact portfolio and organizational strategy,
6. Promotes and practices ZFF’s “Bridging Leadership” approach in strategy management
B. Partnership and Networking/ Stakeholder Engagement
1. Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners in ZFF and other external organizations that promote innovation and organizational learning aligned to strategic management of the 10 year strategic directions
2. Work with institutional MEL, portfolio management, and institutional management units to improve ZFF portfolio and institutional management strategy and standards based on internal and external feedback.
3. Identifies opportunities and work with instutional and portfolio management units that promote innovation, risk management, and strategic thinking in the organization
C. Learning and Knowledge Management
1. Lead the roll out of quality assurance mechanisms and processes for continued organizational learning
2. Integrates feedback mechanisms from community and key stakeholders and partners into strategy management of portfolio and key institutional directions
D. Communications and Brand Management/ Reputational Management/ ZFF Publics
1. Ensures that appropriate branding and logo use are followed, and that instutional intellectual property and copyright is respected by all internal and external stakeholders
2. Upholds and protects ZFF institutional integrity, values, brand and code of conduct, which include reporting of risks, issues and concerns that may affect organizational reputation through the correct channels.
E. Compliance to Institutional Policies
1. Manages adherence to all requirements required of the role including attention to timelines, budgets, regulations, and stakeholder expectations
2. Ensures compliance to ZFF Code of Conduct, PSHEA and other relevant org policies, and upholding of ZFF organizational values, as well as ethical guidelines, conflicts of interests, and strict compliance to PSHEA among staff, suppliers, and key stakeholders
F. Staff Management and Development
1. May provide mentoring on strategic management and other key functions integral to strategic management as needed especially with adherence to organizational integrity, values, brand promise, policies and guidelines and i2m. Qualifications
Educational Attainment:
Completion of graduate degree in functionally-relevant field
Field of Study:
Social Science, Organizational Development or any related field
Work Experience:
At least 8 or more years of progressive related work experience and capacity
Licenses/Certifications:
PMP or a Masters degree an advantage, but not required
Specialized Training/Skills:
Leadership, Program/ Strategic Management-related trainings, Public Health/ Program Monitoring and evaluation, outcome mapping and logical framework
